BOMs Away 13/07

This week I've finished 'Hot Dog Stand', block #7 in Pat Sloan's Vacation Time .  This BOM/QAL started in January and I have to say I've not been thrilled with my fabric choices from the very beginning.  I should have gone with brighter colors.  But, there are only two months left (one more block I think) so I'm determined to finish it.

Hot Dog Stand

Here are the other blocks, in random order :)

Beach Bag

Board Walk

Penny Arcade

Summer Nights

Surf's Up

Toes In The Sand

Linking up with Lynette's BOMs AWAY at What A Hoot Quilts.  Enjoy what your Monday brings! Stay safe, be happy and share some smiles :)

  1. I like your fabric choices... even if you're not wild about them anymore! You are a BOM QAL maniac!

    1. I still like them, I just think I should have gone with something a little more summery and bright. I may go bright with the sashing and borders... I'm sure there must be a Kona shade that will work :)

  2. Hi, Kathy! Thanks for linking up. Good for you to continue although the colors aren't as bright as you would like. I hope this project does for you what so many have done for me when I've not been very satisfied part way through - once they're completed, they somehow magically look much better to me. In the meantime, these blocks are a very nice grouping for that scheme, which is super pretty to a lot of people. You could make a nice donation quilt if it never gains appeal for you. :)

    1. I'm sure I'll find a home for the finished project, when I get there. This one is a 'both sides of the pond' project so it will be tucked away in my suitcase for the return flight home :)

  3. Pretty colors, Hot Dog Stand is my fave and I can see a whole quilt with those blocks. Hopefully the setting will pull them all together in a way that you love.

    1. That's what I'm hoping Heidi :) I think a splash of color for the sashing and borders will work :)

  4. Great blocks. You might be surprised once the whole quilt is together. It takes on a new personality then

    1. Thanks Gina :) I'm glad the blocks are big and simple, if they were more difficult I think the project would have been shifted to the bottom of the pile long ago.

    1. Thanks to Lynette at What A Hoot I now have another QAL to look forward to. My Spring Row will be scrappy as I'm using what I have on hand. Hopefully I'll get caught up this week :) Thank you for dropping by Both Sides :)
