June Finish

Another  'A Lovely Year of Finishes' finish :)  My JUNE GOAL post was #2 at  FIBER OF ALL SORTS Goal Setting party.   I settled on the heart design, made eight and then had it suggested to me that I put the rows in the opposite direction on some of the hearts... so, more cutting and sewing.  That left me with five extra heart blocks, three for the back and two for pillows :)  The back won't get seen much, but it saved me from having to purchase more backing fabric and turned out just as nicely as the top, bonus :)

This 'over the back of the sofa' quilt idea started with a small Tapestry purchased on a recent trip to Venice.  I wanted a heart design because the Cruise that took us to Venice was a celebration of our having met 40 years ago.   All in all, I'm more than pleased and because the top came together so nicely, I just chugged along and finished the project.

    1. Thanks Anja :) That puts me 6 for 6 in the A Year of Lovely Finishes challenge. Not sure what my goal for July will be yet.

  4. Congrats on another great finish! I think you should add a hanging sleeve and hang it over the couch, then all the thought you put into the layout will be visible. I know, I know. More work!

    1. What and take down the picture D has hanging there???? He would have heart palpitations and go into a sweat were I to add another 'change' to his little world ;) I think I'll try to add hangers to all of my smaller quilts in the future, it would be an easy way to change out decor in rooms.
